My 15 plate 1.6 lounge 65k Unconnect account looks like it expires on 14th Nov 20. Does anyone know what that means, I presume the Tomtom HD live traffic services which I use every day will stop.:(
 
If you access the app on your phone select unconnect live status, shows active then an expires date.

According to uConnect FAQs the answer is this


For how long are the LIVE services available? What can I do when they expire?

You can also check the exact expiry date on your smart phone thanks to the Uconnect LIVE app or in your personal area on DriveUconnect.eu. At the moment, a subscription renewal is not expected, but in the months prior to the expiration date each user will be contacted to communicate any opportunity and arrangement for renewal.
 
Thanks I will wait and see what happens, I can’t see TomTom letting expired Unconnect drivers enjoy HD traffic free of charge..........

Or you could set up a new account with a different email address

It's nothing to do with your TomTom account
You don't use tomtom at all in the system (if it's like the Tipo)
It's all managed through Fiat's website also where you have to download updates from

And the live account is tied to the vin/satnav serial number

Maybe it's different for 5" & 6.5" units? When my uConnect Live account misbehaved I just set up another with a diffeent email address, both exist but only the new one functions properly. Also I don't get updates from the Fiat website, it's a way-too-epensive trip to the workshop for the 6.5" unit

The 5" in the Tipo does not require a dealer to update you download them from the Mopar map care website and put them on to a usb stick

But the 6.5" in the 500X is not user updatable, requires a trip to workshops, so maybe the app behaves differently too?
 
Mine clearly states TomTom live HD services, I recall just after I purchased the car new (one of the very first in the uk) I had to activate my account in order to get the HD traffic to work along with the unconnect bits. After I activated some downloads were deployed remotely to the unit. Iam sure Fiat must have had a license agreement with Tomtom in order to offer drivers a modern inbuilt satnav.
 
Somehow during Lockdown 1 - the end date for U Connect Live changed from 31/12/2020 to 31/12/2022-has Fiat Spa ben generous and extended it!?
I have only covered just over 1k miles since July-so only noticed the other day!
