Long storh short, i have issue in my AC and i need to recharge it every year and they can not detect any leak but i dont want to deal with them anymore, the issus is R 1234 yf is very rare in egyot and i cant find it, is there any issue to regass some R134A directly or with an adapter,or has anyone tried it before.

Thanks guys for the support

Yes theoretically you can use R134a in place of R1234yf this is because they are very similar gasses and in essence the manufacturers did not have to redesign their Aircon systems.

Your biggest issue will be filling the system as the connections on the aircon system are bigger on R1234yf equipped cars. I’m not aware of any adaptors but their might be something you could buy from China ?

Or some newer aircon machines have the connectors for the newer systems and you get the aircon person to refill it with R134a in place of the R1234yf.

I have no idea what your rule and laws are like in Egypt, but as you’re not part of the EU the rules around what gas has to be used are unlikely to apply
(I’m just preempting someone coming in and ranting about what you’re preposing being illegal, because it probably isn’t in Egypt)

Thanks alot for your support, as for law in egypt we have no issue at all lol, do u think it may cause any damage to the A/c compressor on the long run or any other issue, also do you i know if i need adapter or just inject some R134A to what i have already of R1234A in A/C tank
