Thank you for letting me in this group.
I come from Denmark, and I have a 500X with a 1.4 Multiair from 2016.
I have had the car for a year, and I quite love it.
But I have had a annoying problem with the car since almost day one.
Often when I started the car with warm engine, there came an ugly smell of petrol and engine oil in the cabin. And whenever this occurred the car was slow and laggy, almost cutting out when I set of in first and second gear. It was driving me crazy.
But now I finally solved the problem,
it turns out that my PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) was broken.
I’ve changed it and the car is like transformed, it now pulls smooth and effortless in the gears.
I have done a few “modification” to the car. I have installed a chip tuning box just to get a little more ‘oomph’, a PedalBox tuning to give the car a better throttle response and I have replaced all the front lights with LED bulbs.
Cheers from Denmark.

No I like the sport mode, but in city traffic I find it a bit too aggressive. Also I don’t like the heavier steering wheel.
I never drive in old fart mode (Auto).
Most of the time I drive in all weather mode, But now with the possibility of three steps, Eco, normal and Racing with 7 fine-tuning steps in each category on the PedalBox. This works perfectly for me.

Could you let us know where the valve is located?
I watched a yutube video but the engine was the 2.4 diesel.

I have the same symptoms with my 1.4 500x.

Thanks.

The PCV valve (box) is this one, it is pretty easy to replace, when you shake the box you should be able to hear a ball making a rattling sound in each tube, if you don’t, then the valve is seized. You can try to clean it with some brake cleaner and compressed air, but I would recommend you to buy a new one as I did.

Is this the part you are referring to?

Because i talked to Fiat and they had no idea about the part. Thanks. Screenshot_20200116-155313_eBay.jpeg

It’s not just the round cap, if you buy a new box the whole box is replaced, the round cap just contains a pressure membranen.

No, i mean the whole thing, this is just a ebay photo pointing at the cap.
