I have a two-channel dash cam hardwired to the 12V power outlet from the inside, leaving the socket available for connecting something else. But the question is, can I connect another device to the socket while the camera is on? I couldn't get a conclusive answer from my service manager on that.

I'm planning to use a 12V car refrigerator for a long trip and I'd like to have the dash cam on in the process. Unfortunately, 500X has only one 12V outlet. My previous car had another one in the trunk, which was very convenient. So, what are my options here?

The power socket in the front of the car in the tray infront of the gear lever is fused at 20Amps AND has a maximum rated capacity of 180Watts.

180W at 12V is 15A and at 14V is 12.8Amps.

Typical Halfords/similar medium size cool box is rated around 40W to 50W or 4 Amps.

I doubt your dash cam will take more than 2 Amps so to be on the safe side you have an additional 12 Amp capacity.
