My driver's side door frame upholstery is coming off from under the rubber strip (please see the attached photo). Any tips on keeping it in place?

Looking at the picture then this is what I think is happening.

For some reason the headlining material is becoming unglued and tension is pulling it inwards/down wards. If you follow the dimples from good areas to bad areas you can see the lines of the dimples dip around the affected areas.

If your car is under warranty then put a claim into Fiat / extended warranty company.

If not then you will have to pull off the door rubber seal and then pull up and re-glue the affected areas. You will also need to use a quality material/headlining glue to avoid staining of the fabric.

Tricky one this ...maybe some glue....done very carefully... With a tiny brush.,and then taped over with low tack masking tape until the glue dries........and yes the choice of glue is vital...

Yeah, gluing seems to be the only choice here, but what kind of glue to use? Maybe a silicone sealant? I would prefer something that could be removed more or less easily if needed.

Silicone sealant would not be my choice it's not really a glue ... I think you need some kind of fabric adhesive that will not stain the head lining. Google around a bit..upholstery ..anything that can be removed easily will be removed easily so will not do the job ...Have you asked your dealer? before you tackle it ...they may have solved this problem before...
