So was showing a friend how to neatly do tow bar wiring/aux poer routing on a 500X and noticed this.
To the right of the ECU on the bulkhead is a connector with a retained/mounted plug / socket combination with the wires entering/leaving vertically. Nothing odd about this till I looked closer.
To my surprise sandwiched between the connectors/cables and the engine ECU was a plastic (tied) connector cover cap for the upper connector.
I've no idea at the moment what this connector/wiring is for but it would be pretty unusual for a manufacturer to have excess cost (cover) on what may be a standard manufacturing wiring assembly.
Not worried or bothered by this other than my car could have cost me 20 pence less
