Hi guys,

Long story short - my Fiat 500x cross plus Uconnect system failed a few weeks after I purchased the car. It was barely weeks out of warranty and Fiat customer service (Italy) are refusing to help since the previous owner didn’t take it back for the re-call to fix the black screen freeze issue that Fiat acknowledged were an issue and a manufacture fault.

Anywhoo. I’ve been quoted £1600 for a new radio. Or I can get the radio second hand and Fiat local dealership (who have been helpful) will fit and do whatever it needs to have done to work for £40 ish.

They have given me two part codes for the radio that fits my Fiat. Issue is, I can only find two of these on eBay and both are £££ and in Europe.

I’ve emailed a few UK sellers and they’ve told me I can use any part and just need a radio code to unlock it - that the dealership is having me on and any radio console unit will work. So my question is... can I get ANY Uconnect 6.5 nav screen and have that fitted?

I don’t have DAB but can see lots of the radio alternatives with this feature at a much cheaper cost. My question is - would the unit work if fitted?

The radio part I need is 334 VP2 Ece Nav RVC and there is plenty available with different ‘part numbers’ but they're still a 334 VP2 ECE Nav. Has anyone tried and tested what I’m asking above (if it makes sense?)

Thanks in advance.

i've just put in a 6.5 unit and it goes in perfectly. You will need the radio unlock code or get the radio decoded. The only thing was the missing grey connector which I believe is the DAB aeriel ( on the back was white and blue and also a grey usb socket.

The navigation software looks different and the UI is slower. My next step is to upgrade the firmware which may speed it up.
