General Only one proper key?

Both my son & wife have 500's of similar vintage came with one remote key & one normal key, my 500x with keyless has two - be no good with a normal key, would it! I have to say, when i found this one had keyless AND an electric park brake i was a bit hacked off - i work in the trade and these things cause problems - but i would'nt be without them now and hate using a normal key or handbrake! Talking of the handbrake, it's suprising how many so-called premium cars don't have a drive off auto release - how crude!

One remote and one basic key is the norm for most Fiats except for cars with proximity/smart keys. Having two remotes is an optional extra. Surprisingly few people opt for a second remote when buying new. I do a lot of keys for a couple of dealers that sell a huge number of Fiat 500’s and it’s probably around the 1 in 50 mark that have two remote keys.

Wouldn't want one with the new spec

I agree. I'm a manual gearbox man and also tow. The 150 petrol engine is only available in the DCT auto version which lacks a torque converter and crawling in traffic wrecks the automatic selespeed/DCT clutch with constant slipping. However with a manual box once rolling all feet off the pedals and the car will chug along with no clutch slip. Also less to go wrong and cheaper to repair.

Right sorry to bump this thread again, but our spare remote came in handy as the mrs has lost or can't find her key, so question is does the other mechanical key get you out of trouble if we lose this one, as in would it disable the alarm and immobiliser or is that a stupid question, thanks folks

If the key didn't disable the imobliser you wouldn't be able to start the car with it

Also don't think Fiat's usually come with alarms but not familiar with the 500x
