I’ve just booked my 500X in for its second service and the price seems crazy high. It might just be me but it’s seems rather a lot. I’ve been quoted just over the £460 mark plus £19.99 for the insurance on a courtesy car. This is at Glynn Hopkin in Ipswich. Does this sound right to everyone or is it too much? Thanks.

Firstly the size of the quote does seem excessive even for a major service.

Secondly, check your own car insurance, my insurance specifically covers courtesy cars whilst mine is in the garage.

Worth a look at your policy/certificate

Yes sounds expensive. Can't recall what mine cost back in 2017.

The 1st year service only has oil and filter and even that is optional if you have not done 9K miles.

The 2nd year then all the following should be done:

Oil & Filter
Air Filter
Cabin/Pollen Filter
Spark Plugs
Brake and Clutch Fluid

The bulk of the cost will be the parts. Even so £460 is going some.

I know your car is not three years old yet but I Google Fiat Fixed Price Servicing and see this: https://www.pentagon-group.co.uk/fiat/service-offers/fiat-fixed-price-servicing

Gold Service - £229 !!!!!!

Thanks for the replies. I’ve contacted another local dealership and they’ve quoted me £350! Bit of a difference. I’ll speak to them when the car is in tomorrow for the rear seat recall.

I got quoted £270 for a basic service for mine at a main dealer outside London. I wanted a bigger one, no idea what that would have cost. Maybe £350-£400?

Ended up getting a quote from Stoneacre in the Manchester area, was sub £200 for a full service.

My car is the 2l mjd, 4wd, auto.

I'm booked in with Glyn Kopkin East London next week, 2nd year standard service is £299 inc vat and it's on their website.

I’ve spoken to them and their now doing it for £340.

Tbh I'd go with the other dealer that quoted £350, on the basis that they offered this from the get-go and didn't try to blatantly profiteer like Glyn Hopkin. Particularly damning for them given one of their London sites quoted £299 as per their own website, as someone above mentioned

I can't abide that when people so blatantly inflate their price and then drop over £100 when pressured. Totally appreciate that companies need to make money, but they should offer an honest price and stick to it (n)
