I like the car a lot, but after coming from a 500 with body coloured dashboard trim I'm not too keen on the "upgraded" darker dash in the cross. picture below: https://www.cardoen.be/sites/default...--14250508.jpg Is there anyone out there with a red pop/ pop star/ lounge who would like to do a swap?

The City look cars came with coloured Dash options but the grey dash was standard on the Cross look. I think its pretty easy to swap over the three sections if you can source them. I've been looking for a red set for ours.

I called a breakers yard yesterday after seeing some pics online as they had a damaged pop and the pics looked good. When I called them though the guy said they had sold the whole dashboard complete for £120! I'd have given em £50 just for the red panels. I'm off to the Fiat garage next Friday to get that recall on the rear seat clip sorted, would be great if I could have taken a nice shiny red dash with me and asked them to fit it.

I just visited a Fiat garage to get my rear seat clips done under the recall, as I had a few minutes waiting time I thought I might as well enquire about a new dash. The guy on the desk said the centre part would cost £166 alone, so extrapolated etc and sais it looks like it would cost £600-£700 including fitting. I'd expect a bit less as the small part must be a lot cheaper. No chance at that price. I'll just keep waiting. While i was there i sat in one of the new 500x's. Not sure which version but had the old cross version kickplates back and front but a exterior coloured dashboard, and was manual. Nice seat fabric inside. I sat in it and noticed the nice new steering wheel which looks good in the pictures....however it is significantly slimmer than before. I remember some car mags mentioned it years ago as being a bad thing on the previous cars having what they called a fat/ chunky steering wheel....dunno why? Anyway the impression I got with the new one is it's too thin, making it harder to grip, I do prefer mine a lot more.

No, I know they are more from Fiat - we just saw that above! - but it's a lot for something that can't be a big seller plus it's going to cost about £100 or so for a decent repaint - i'm not going to rattle can something that's in my face every day! I agree with Cowabunga on the steering wheel, i like my nice chunky one. Even if i ever have the money again, not sure i'd want one of the new ones - the 1.3 does'nt have enough pedals and i see way,way too many small turbo's with problems so that would'nt work for me. I prefer a larger, less stressed engine. God, how i miss my Volvo V70!
