I posted a while back about Bluetooth problems on my Uconnect unit. Local dealer has done an update and all sorts to no avail.

If my iPhone 6s is in my pocket with or without the case the music I am streaming will stop and start as it looses the signal.

I have to keep my phone in the cubby hole under the temp/fan controls at the front of the car and even then it isn’t great and will drop out every so often.

The worst one of all is when the unit will connect to my phone and I can make and receive calls but when trying to stream music it states “check device is within range and is on”. I have tried repairing, restarting my phone etc. You have to turn the car off leave the vehicle lock it and come back to it and eventually it will play ball.

I don’t understand why it does this yet it will make and receive calls? My partner also has a 6s and it is exactly the same. I have also used my phone on a ford radio that had BT streaming and that was perfect.

Any ideas? Are all units like this?

Spoke to the dealer yesterday, they have booked it in to check it out.

I don’t know why but I find that fiat don’t like changing the units under warranty and just want to keep updating them etc.

If anyone else has an iPhone 6s or similar I would be interested to know if you can use the music streaming feature with your phone in your pocket/rear of the car etc. Just so I can easily compare it to mine that shows it’s knackered

The dealer changed my uConnect head unit under warranty without and reluctance at all, due to a DAB issue. However, I do sense that Fiat are currently reining back the ludicrous amounts of money they spent on 500X warranty claims in the first two years. They spent thousands on my car when it would have been cheaper to have given me a new one, but they spent the money so they could 'learn' allegedly. I suspect the learning phase might now be over
