Prior to the 500x we owned a 500 in Bossa Nova white with the cockpit/ dashboard of the same colour. Liked it a lot, brightened the interior.

With our current 500X being a Cross model, as with everything in the "off road" range the dash is not the car colour but the sandpapery feeling darker colour.

I've just been looking at this video, I like the change a lot and wouldn't mind doing it myself.

This is essentially why I went for a Lounge/Cross hybrid. My 500X has all the benefits of being a Lounge on the inside, while having the Cross looks on the outside. The only thing left for me to complete the "hybridization" is replacing the rear lower cover with the off-road version.

Indeed, I bought a Lounge rather than a Cross Plus because I wanted a brighter interior, having been used to a 500 lounge. Just a shame they don't supply the 500X with a glass roof as standard like the 500.

I had the 500 lounge too, but with sunroof. It ate into the headroom a bit but that wasn't the main issue which was the seat base itself didnt drop down enough for my liking.

I've googled around for a 500x red dashboard and can't find one :(

Not got that far yet.

The ideal scenario would be someone with a red dash wanting to swap and then could get em swapped over at a Fiat garage, and agree to pay 50/50 on the total labour cost. Then I wouldnt have to buy the set (assuming i could find one at reasonable cost) and sell the set I have. Maybe someone out there prefers the darker look?

I showed that vid above to the missus last night, she likes the idea, but we're not gonna spend a fortune doing it.

It's all about personal taste.
I like the dark interior.
Personally, i certainly did not want the colored inside, that's one of the reasons why i choose the S-Design.

Sure, it's a matter of taste, but the colored dashboard seems to be a popular choice. Everyone who sits in my car for the first time instantly compliments my red dashboard as something bold and stylish. I think it really adds to the character of the car.

I'm just in the process of buying a 500x Cross in Toscana Green. Strangely, they had an identical auto model Cross at the dealers' with body coloured dash but the manual one i'm buying has the dark one. I prefer the body coloured look so i'll have to see if i can find one breaking sometime and buy the inlay panels.

Yes, its all down to personal preference. One of the reasons I bought my 500X was that most cars are swathed in dark greys and black on the inside. The appeal of the Lounge I bought was the body coloured dash and the light coloured part "leather".

Have you found any info on how to fit the parts if you get them?
I think the panels are just mounted by clips.
Pull hard enough and it comes off.
After all, it has to go easily by production.

Yep I've been waiting for the right coloured dash parts to come on to ebay for the right price to change our Cross Plus..................

I’m about to get a 2016 X Cross plus in black. I’m usually on the 500 pages as I buy crashed 500s and repair them as a hobby. If it’s the same as the little 500 you can change the dash panel in 10 minutes. Just a few screws and it pulls off. I would like to change mine too but with a black car it would just make it darker. I wonder if white would work?

Do you know the 4x4 Panda lump? Any thoughts on whether that would fit a Qubo and its running gear to make a 4x4 Qubo? I've not checked any dimensions re axle sizes etc, just wondered... I guess there's a fair bit of interchangeability between models to save on many individual part supplies.

Thats an interesting one. Not sure Black would make it profoundly darker because what's there already is quite dark. The benefit would probably be that light would bounce off black so could end up looking brighter, if you see what I mean?

White could work, but maybe too much of a contrast.
