I kicked myself, that I didn’t pick this up when I collected the car!
Parcel shelf has premature wear either side! Not sure why, also clip/ bracket was missing?!?
Anyone else had this, would it be a warranty matter?!?IMG_0412.JPGIMG_0489.JPG

Very strange, seems like a used one...
Too bad you did not see it, but the dealer should have seen it on delivery.

That sounds the most obvious explanation. My clips regularly come loose when the boot is too full and I could envisage if one was missing and the shelf was misaligned it would wear in this fashion.

Yes and as per my recent post its also missing the rubber ends - mine have both ripped off so will be sourcing a couple under warranty. If its any consolation though - there's several used complete Parcel Shelfs on ebay for about £40 - less that I thought they would be...

Hello what do the rubber ends look like?!? Is it where there is premature wear!?

Yes mate as they clip through those slots in your first photo - Sorry I haven't got a photo to hand but you can see the LH side one here -

I'll add the part number when I get around to calling in to my local dealer to get replacements ordered.

Thanks, I now know I was sold a car with a duff one!! Lessons learnt!

I had a look at mine, both rubber bits are present. Strangely, they appear to be a slightly different shape on each side.
Easy to miss details like that when viewing a car Alex. Try to get something from the dealer, they are supposed to fix faults pre-existing at the time of sale for up to 6 months. Failing that, though, if you can get a replacement for £40 it's not the end of the world.

Yes I have both of mine even though they ripped off - they are different on each side to fit and marked SX DX (In Italian left (sinistra) can be abbreviated as SX and right (destra) DX).

Aye, lesson learnt & all that. I recently purchased a small workhorse car £30 tax bracket(garage) for getting about town, lots of stop/starts as a care worker, anyway I think I'm quite savvy & among other things noticed no parcel shelf present in car. Was told no problem this would be rectified. Trusting old git that I am, I managed to iron out things apart from the shelf! Today four months later I paid the garage a visit again, I'm bending the salesmans ear, I also had a wee chat with lovely young lady at reception about my tale, hey presto she came up with a shelf, result.

Sorry, this is of no help to OP.

Well I visited by local Fiat dealer and they flatly refused to replace these under warranty - anything deemed as Internal trim falls under this apparently?!? Fairly naff for a 2 year old sub 20k car
:( I think I'll try to bond mine - they are £17 a side for a small lump of rubber!

Hello and sorry to dig this up.
Did you, by any chance, manage to identify the part number for these DX/SX clips?
Mine just broke as well (clearly a design error, if they break when you fill up the boot..).

Hello Everyone,

I hope someone sees this cause I need help. I recently bought a parcel shelf for my 2017 500X that includes the clips, strings and rubber stops but I cannot find anywhere the parts that are supposed to attach to the car in order to install it; basically the pegs (?) and the clip hangers (?). I am really not sure if those names are correct and cannot find the specific part numbers anywhere. I appreciate any help, thank you.

I'm guessing it was a showroom car, and a member of the public half-inched them. That could also be the solution for you... :D

I run a 169 Panda. Obviously not a 500X but its surprising how often Fiat use the same basic designs across many models.
The parcel shelf hinge "pins" need the rubber end caps or they'll rattle and be generally annoying. Also check the body-attached panel which carries the shelf, where the little clip can break off allowing the shelf to lift out too easily. The clip is integral to the big chunk of plastic that fills the space around the seat back and supports the parcel shelf.
