So .... the fuel low notification is bugging me. It pings the alert and the range shows I have 36 miles to go. Minutes later the range shows —— which causes me to go into panic mode!

All other cars I’ve have pop the message With approx 1.5 gallons left (70 to 90 Miles)

I have a 1.6 cross plus diesel and have had same sized diesels for years and feel something is wrong.

How are all your low fuel warnings working out??

The struggle is real. The range showing –– when fuel is low irks me, too. I guess it fails to calculate the range when the fuel left in the tank is lower than a certain amount, but I have no idea what exactly is going on there.

My fiorino van is exactly the same..........Must be normal, but it does make you hunt for the nearest garage.......QUICK!

I look at the blobs on the left hand side of the main central speedo thingy.

If I remember correctly last time these all disappeared I filled up a few miles later, got 39.8 litres into the tank. With the tank being 48 litres I think the blobs all go with about 9 litres left, about 2 gallons.

If you get that concerned about range why not just fill up at 1/4 of a tank

I have a 1.4MA once fuel low comes on apparently you have 5 or 6 litres left probably good for 25 miles easy, as Cowabunga says once all the blobs have gone I would probably fill up soon,

Later/more modern Fiats all do this "--" after the fuel warning.

I can understands Fiats logic though. You have a fuel level meter. You have current consumption and expected range at current consumption etc.

If they were instead of "--" to show "30", "20", "xx", "yy" then I can see some customers complaining "you said I had 10 miles of travel, I only needed 5 to the next garage but I ran out of fuel 2 miles short. You fault Fiat you can pay for the recovery!".
