Having my Fiat 500X 2ltr Diesel Cross serviced for the first time sine buying it, car has done 12k miles, and I am having it serviced at the Fiat garage where I bought the car from.

They have quoted me £269 for the service, is this excessive?

The car is a 66Plate, bought the Demo version this time last year, April 2017

Car was 6 months old when purchased and had 50miles on the clock, so I argued with the Service Garage who wanted me to have a major service at £270 that this was my first service and therefore should be a low mileale service at £139..

Can to an agreement and having the Major Service for £199.

It's worth haggling..

Do you have 6.5 unconnect screen?? If so as discussed elsewhere you will have to go to a dealer for maps update!
Are the maps up to date, will they come to an ‘arrangement’ to update maps as well!?

Similarish circumstances to me on the car, Mine was registed Dec 2016 and I bought Aug 2017 with 11 miles on the clock.

Good going, seems very reasonable for a major service. Around where I am the prices were creeping up. Last summer I asked for a major service for our old 500 1.3mjd and was quoted £290 so I left it. This summer I'm going to shop around for the 500x and try and get cheapest price. At the moment I'm up to 3,000 miles and might make 4,000 by the time servicing arrives so unsure whether to go for low mileage or major service.

With the old 500x I did a lot of low mileage ones, we owned from new, it did 10,000 miles in the 1st 3 years, then only 5,000 in total from years 3-7.

I don't think you'll have a choice with Fiat, ey will insist that you have a Major service given the age of the car despite that you have only done a few thousand Miles, as this is exactly what they did with me.

I kinda think that's fair though, no issues with having a major service, all depends on cost.

Was the £199 you were quoted close to London?

Its the second service thats the more expensive one circa £2-300 as it includes a Brake fluid change. Starbucks - if you are West Mids based I cannot reccomend http://www.motor-mech.co.uk/index.asp enough. A mate of mine Paul Gilbert runs the place and he has looked after all my 'fleet' for years. Right in the centre of Brum by Selfridges. Paul did the service on the wifes 500x and uses genuine Fiat parts/fluids to maintain the warranty. One of his mechanics runs a 500X and Paul has just bought a Giulia Quadrifoglio :) He's a real Italian Petrolhead.
