My hands free is awful, whenever someone phones me they hear their own voice and mine is distorted. We've tried different phones and it's never any better. Anyone else had this issue??

Never had this problem once I got the phone paired and set up. I have the 6.5 inch screen unit and running software version 17. something. One of the best systems I have used including reading back of text messages.

Never had a problem,I use two iPhones and both work really well and very clear. As long as the volume is turned up it is nice and clear and the microphone picks up voices well from both the driver and the passenger. Deffo sounds like you have a fault.

I suspected the system is at fault so I've booked it in for net Tuesday, I'll update afterwards

Quick question, does anyone use any other phone other than an iPhone and if so do they work ok?

I use a Samsung Android phone and it works fine for me..

Overall though ive been pretty disappointed with the whole Uconnect system especially its damn annoying Camera Alerts..

It's a funny old world. I initially said of all the things I'd want it's the 6.5 inch uconnect rather than my 5 inch non-nav.

Seems like the camera alerts p*** everybody off, so I might have had a lucky escape.

Thanks, I was just fore-arming myself before being told that it only worked with iPhone.
They've kept hold of the car, they can't seem to get to the bottom of the problem even with an iPhone.

I turn the camera warning off in 'nav'

Thanks guys.

That sadly doesnt work, and the only reason you are not getting Camera Alerts is becuase your Phone and Uconnect App are not connected to your car.

Once they are you will receive the Camera Alerts whether you switch them off or not, and boy do they get irritating, and to be honest they are useless too... goes off when no camera is seen for miles and then goes off a billion times for 1 camera...

I drive over the M6 Junction 10 roundabout every day, no cameras on the roundabout but on the motorway below, get about 30 beeps approaching the Roundabout and another 3o when I'm on it... absolutely useless...

I am connected to Uconnect everything other than Ecodrive works perfectly (and my echoing hands-free of course)and yes it does turn off, (nav/settings/ turn off voice guidance)that silences it. I quite often turn it off when local then pop it back on when I'm somewhere new. Never been a problem.

Update; the car has got to go back next week when the Techs at Fiat have got their heads around it, there's no fault codes and everything works fine, they just can't clear the echo and the poor sound quality irrespective of what phone they tried.

I'll have to try that in mine, seems a really odd place to silence the Cameras though by turning off Voice Guidance on your Nav especially when there is a setting for Turning Off Camera Alerts that doesnt work, but with UConnect nothing surprises me...

I'll let you know if that works on my car.

It made no sense to me, It was only after turning off the voice guidance that I noted no speed camera alert bongs, odd indeed.

Well knock me down with a feather it actually works...

Seems such a stupid design though that the only way to turn off the Camera Alerts is to switch the nice lady off who gives you directions, especially when there is a setting for Camera Alerts that you can switch to off that does absolutely nothing...

Just another nonsensical function in UConnect that rendors the system pretty much useless...

I can't really see why Fiat would have programmed the system in this manner what benefit would they expect to gain from it other than to P*ss their customers off..

Glad to be of service, it is indeed totally bonkers but at least you now have some peace.

I'm looking forward to the next stage of my crappy hands-free, hopefully Monday will be a success.

All is good, another update of the software and everything works perfectly including the Ecodrive, Happy days (for now)
