Technical Reversing sensors suddenly gone silent.

Just back from its 9k service which included a software update apparently.

Just noticed that although the visual part of the reversing sensors works - the "sonar" readout on display - the beeps have gone totally silent.

Had a quick look through the menu but cannot find a setting for the reversing sensors.

edit - well that was wierd ! Just found the "2nd settings list - the one on the radio unit.

But that was showing the sensor setting as "sound and visual" was on and volume was medium !

So selected high. And sound is back. Selected medium again to see if maybe that was the only setting which was silent. But its working again !!!

Another little Fiat "quirk" ?

I happened to find the same problem today on my 2017 500X Lounge. The sensors were working properly and stopped working today. I tried your fix, but it did not solve the problem. Not a great start to a new car with less than 1K miles on it. I guess I will contact service on Monday

Yep it's a Fiat quirk.I had the same after a battery change,no sound but graphics. Turned off sound in menu then turned back on and it worked fine.

A while back I had a similar issue with the indicator lights no longer flashing on lock/unlock.

Check menu and they were set to operate. Turned that off and back on again and all was OK again.

It is called "Driver Engagement Technology". The lady does not like to be ignored

The dashboard lady is not for turning (off and on again).

Those of a certain age will understand.
