Last Thursday I agreed to buy a 500x Cross 4x4 2.0 auto. It came with most of the bells & whistles I would have ordered and was in the right colour (black).

Having done the pre-delivery and registration stuff yesterday afternoon, I picked it up at 5pm.

The dealer bought from me my cherished 3.0 Range Rover auto (owned Rangies for 20 years) and I was a bit apprehensive about the switch.

OK you are not as high, the leather isn't as plush, the walnut not evident at all and I suspect in really sticky territory the Rangie is a league ahead. But for £26k this little car made me smile all the way home as I covered its shiny body in mud (I live in a forest!).

Again this morning, whizzing off to work, I loved the responsiveness; the fun.

Pre Rangies I owned a terrific Mk 1 Panda 4x4 - a real mountain goat of a car. This 500x, like my old Panda, has made me smile!

Oh, and it can't be any less reliable than Solihull's finest. For £60k+ motors, Rangies are v temperamental !
