OK another setting question I hope. I remember driving the 500x at night and possibly why I noticed it but the rectangle surrounding the usb and aux in had a nice white light surrounding it (like the mood selector). This has only happened once, never seen it illuminated again, I've tried plugging a USB stick in and flicking through the menus, nothing.

Anyone know the solution?

This is controlled by a dial near the headlight controls.

There is some nice interior lighting (it might only be part of the upper level trim packages). The cupholders, (both in the center and those in the door) The storage pocket up in the front. The USB jacks. There is even a light under the door when you open it. Nice for a dark garage.

I've got the puddle lights on each door. Near the headlights is the dimmer switch and headlight adjustment. Where's the switch for the usb surround please?

These areas should light up white when the main lights are on, looks like you have a failure there. The mood lighting that data sage is talking about is only available on higher trim specs. Puddle lights are standard.

I really haven't ever noticed this detail, while my car didn't show any light around aux and usb.

However, after reading this post (and because it was really not convenient these ports to be dark), I just played with the dimmer of the panel lights and the lights around aux and usb came back! Now they seem OK. I suggest you try the same.

Go into the car settings on the Connect Unit.

There is a setting for "Interior Lighting" where you can adjust the level/brightness of these supplementary lighting items (doors, cup holders, etc). Can't recall if there is a Off setting though.

I believe these additional light settings are only available for lounge models and above.

This feature seems to be turned on in my 500X Cross. At first I thought it was a nice touch (and it does add to the feeling of quality) but to be honest I'm not convinced that it isn't just a bit distracting when driving in the dark with no street lights? Think I'll try turning it off for a couple of journeys and see how much difference it makes.

So this is what I'm talking about. This came on when I adjusted the dimmer switch for the dash lights. Obviously a fault as the next time in the car nothing had been adjusted and the lights were off, as soon as I touched the dimmer switch it turned back on. So just confirming this is a fault.

Well mine only come on when I switch the ignition on...then off then back on again. It only ever lights up on the second time the ignition is switched on. Everything else is normal. It must be a funny quirk?

I just been messing about and have just discovered mine also comes on if I adjust the dimmer switch as well as switching ignition on and off... Very strange

Hi there new to the forum and the 500x when you say there is a section for changing the lighting is this when you are connected through the UConnect system as I cant find anything to change the lights on the dashboard menu, having trouble with the U connect app on my phone as well so not linking up at this time still working on it though but any nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.

Lou there is no setting with in Uconnect to change dashboard lights only the dimmer switch next to the main light ring switch. Secondly, the app sucks, doesn't always connect, never remembers preferences and I'm not sure which MPG to believe. Trip computer in car says I'm getting 22-29 mpg Yet app says I'm getting 39. My own calculations are more like 34.

Have to say not impressed with UConnect either having same problems service not available etc even when it works cant find the light settings which are mentioned in the handbook either on UConnect or on the dashboard settings think I will speak to the dealer see if these light settings exist on UK versions of the lounge. Have to say love the car though think Fiat have a winner with this one.
