I'd better have a look in the settings because mine defo does not come on when I switch off the car.

Yep just checked it out.Got it working, I didn't see the 'auto brake' option in the settings was switched to off. Would have been nice if the salesman had told me this at the time of picking up the car rather than just saying the brake is automatic and does it all for you! Thanks Internet ....?

Which settings is the handbrake in. The dash or the uconnect.

I found it on Uconnect under brakes then autobrake . Set it to on. Mine was off.

Glad you have found the "solution".

I have to admit (not having researched this particular setting) that I found that the UConnect settings menus do not map / drive all of the main car dash menu settings/options.

I think this is an item Fiat need to address because it is very confusing and frustrating to be offered one set of options/settings on one access method and another set on another.

Early Days

I think Fiat do need to impose some sort of handover check list when you take delivery of the 500x. There is so much that you have to find out yourself, so far I have discovered.

Stop start comes up as unavailable if you undo your seat belt before turning off the engine, I thought I has a fault and wasted mine and service departments time investigating.

You can't drive the car with out the drivers seat belt being done up.

The setting up of the auto hand brake, could not figure out how to do a hill start,. No one explained how it works, i.e it can go on automatic when you turn the engine off, in fact I was driving around for 4 weeks just manually pulling the hand brake on and off.

Auto brake is very prone to turning off in the rain.

Wait at leat 10seconds before attempting to fill the car with fuel once you put the nozzle in.

U conect, make sure you have an I phone or android, if like me you have a Windows phone there is no app and you won't get live traffic etc.

Fully agree with that!

You can drive the car without the drivers seat belt on. You must press the brake pedal and manually release the electric handbrake at the same time.
Mine says wait 10 seconds after filling up before removing nozzel!
