Hi, investigating a new fault on my partners 2013 Fiat 500L. I have a basic code reader which has brought back the following 3 error codes

P0221 - Throttle position (TP) sensor B/accelerator pedal position (APP) Sensor B - Range/performance problem

P1682 - Motorised Throttle

P1687 - Throttle Driven (signal implausible)

question is which sensor is this and where is it located? am I right in thinking it could be the crank sensor on the top of the engine wired into the ignition packs / spark plugs and / or there's a sensor under the accelerator pedal in the cabin.

There are also 4 warnings on the dash that cycle through when the ignition is turned on

Steering corrector unavailable
ESC unavailable
Hill Holder unavailable
Check Engine

Thanks in advance

I'm not saying that the codes you have are wrong or that the dash warnings are wrong but when multiple codes and dissimilar errors/messages occur then often these can be attributed to a poor power condition.

So I would check the battery connections and preferable try a new(er) battery.

One point to note is that when diagnostic kit connects to may modern Fiats then it is not uncommon for the dash to flag some systems as not available. These can be system connection related say when specifically connecting to the Air Bar System. All messages should disappear when the kit is disconnected and the ignition cycled.

Hi

2013 is about life expectancy for the original battery.. mine is still working in the warm of late summer

Where are you based.. somebody on the members register for FIAT diagnostic kit might be nearby
