Does anyone know where the location is on a 500L Trekking model of the low pressure aircon regas valve? I’ve seen vids but they are for the 500 (not L). Would it be in a similar area as have seen a thread saying that there is a fuel valve nearby and to make sure you get the right one!

Find yours.. :)

Post a pic..or 2 ;)

If you follow the pipework it should be pretty obvious.. alloy lines running towards the front of vehicle wont be fuel

Which engines are you discussing...?

I did try and find it hence my post ;)

It's not actually my car so was asking on behalf of someone so will try and take some pics next time I have access to it. I've not re-gassed an aircon before so wanted to make sure I definitely got the correct valve as none of them had the label I've seen on other brands.

It's a 2014 1.3 Multijet Diesel.

I've seen someone else ask the same question on here but was shown a video of a 500.

Rear left near the fuel filter for both high and low pressure it looks like

So you're not qualified, or have the correct equipment, and possibly not the correct gas either. And you are probably only assuming that gas loss is the problem you're trying to fix.

Aircon gas is a greenhouse gas, and there is legislation about releasing it. A lot of vehicles are now moving to a different gas than we're used to, which is more flammable.

A qualified aircon specialist will evecuate the system, and check for it to hold the vacuum, which checks for leaks. Then they regas with the correct gas, and teh correct amount, and the correct amount and type of oil. That's what you pay for.

I guess you're planning to use one of those regas canisters available from car accessory shops. Might work, might screw it up completely.

Calm down sweetheart, you’re getting yourself all worked up!
I thought this forum was where you could ask for advice or share knowledge etc.
Hundreds of people regas aircon themselves.
I do know the difference between the gas types funnily enough but you seem to assume quite a lot. .
In this case (the car is not mine) they took it to the garage and they said straight away ‘you need a regas’ which they did for £39 and all working perfectly again.
Problem sorted!
