500L Twin Air 13 reg. Lately car starts Ok and runs OK until temp gauge is at nomal, and then stopping at junctions etc and revs come down to idle, revs stay normal but engine shakes. Acceleration feels hesitant until speed built up.
The car is on a service plan (Poor choice in this case) Called an independent mechanic to check it out, pulled the plugs, they were badly stained and in his opinion may never have been changed.I removed the air filter from its cover, it was filthy and coming apart. Replaced same.Last service plan was in May 2018.
Symptoms are still the same but not as severe.
Any suggestions please.
Sorry for the rant, needed to get it off my chest, No service plan in future!

For the servicing part, this is the exact same thing my Fiat dealership did to me. After two months of their so-called service I did one myself to find the filters really clogged and the oil filtration too.

From that point I'm doing my servicing myself, can't trust any mechanic that will just inevitably reset the service interval. There are good mechanics, my local garage shows me in front of their eyes that they change the filter but they end up using the cheaper stuff.

I was offered their service plan but ended up not taking it as I knew after the warranty expired, I'll be maintaining it myself.

Hi Pete

Experience of the TA engine in other models (500, Panda) has shown that the uniair unit is easily damaged by incorrect or insufficient servicing, particularly if the correct grade, specification and quantity of oil are not used.

If this does happen, then unfortunately replacement of the uniair module is the only known fix, and the module isn't particularly cheap.

If you search the forum for 'uniair', you'll find lots of posts on the subject.

I'd get pictures of them all and go back to the dealer and kick up a fuss especially if they claimed to have changed them

Problems with a lot of main dealers is
They stick exactly to the schedule e.g if it says filter change at 26k miles and you take it in at 23k they won't change it as it's not due for another 3k
