Looking for advice, re-assurance!

The (5ooL) drivers door handle stops working, the handle seems to detach itself from the opening mechanism. I've had my garage do a quick fix several times but it just keeps happening.

The door can always be opened from the inside and the mechanism still seems to work. The handle becomes sticky when opening and then disconnects so you can open the door handle but it's not connected to anything!

Is this a common thing or am I just unlucky?
