Well, the call has come. The panda 4x4 was too much of a compromise for all but the two days a year it snowed so we pick up a new 500L on Friday. Looking forward to not threading our little boy through the door in to his seat!

Welcome to the 500L forum! :D

We are also moving up from a Panda (Trekking model). We have two boys (a 5yr old and a 21 month old) who only just fit in the back and the boot is sadly insufficient for all our paraphernalia.

Our 500L should arrive next month as we're waiting for it to be built still. Are you buying a new or used model? What colour/specs have you gone for?

It's a 1.4 petrol pop star in dark grey. We just don't do enough miles for diesel. We got a cracking deal from the dealer on the new one but don't even ask about how poor the panda trade in was. Picking it up on Friday and looking forward to it.

Sounds like a very similar setup to us! We chose the petrol too as it's mostly being used for the school run and we only do about 7-8k a year.

We got 4k off the list price on the 500L (ours is a Lounge) and a couple of extras thrown in, but a good chunk of that has been lost by the negative equity on the Panda - we are only halfway through our finance agreement which is a bad time to trade-in. Plus the interest rate on the 500L is a bit of a stinker, especially considering we had 0% on the Panda.

If we didn't need a bigger car right now, we'd have hung on to the Panda until the end of our finance and not been in negative equity. Of course what we should have done is buy a 500L 2 years ago. Lesson learned the hard way.

Looking forward to seeing pics of yours, the grey is a lovely colour and not one that I've seen very often. We've gone for jazz turquoise as we tend to like bright colours on our cars - our Panda is orange! :D

Not too bad thanks, lovely car and sooooo much space! Had some parking sensors fitted as a dealer option and it seems to have broken a seal on a rear light cluster which is full of condensation. Let's see how good the dealer service is. They are promising a quick fix so fingers crossed.

Glad you are pleased with it. Sorry to hear about the problem with the rear light cluster, hope the dealer is as good with service as they were taking your money!

Thanks, any updates on yours yet?

It was built earlier this week and is now on a boat headed this way apparently. Going to ring dealer tomorrow to re-arrange signing the paperwork and will see if we can squeeze some more info out of him lol.

I'm hoping we might have it before the Easter holiday, but it will probably be the beginning of April. I swear the days are getting slower the closer to pickup we get lol.
