Hi looking a tjet 500l to replace my 1.4 petrol model. Location unimportant as will travel throughout UK for right model.I know motorpoint have a green one but mrs would prefer another colour
Thanks

Thanks...makes the task a little more difficult knowing the facts

Yes, we would have considered a Tjet if it had been available, but you can't even get it on a factory build any more.

Particularly frustrating as other countries still have the option - France for instance has the the twinair and the Tjet available to order as well as the diesel engines. Never really understood the whole market variation when they're made in the same factory!

Could I ask if you've been happy with the regular 1.4 petrol? As that's the engine we've ordered.

Good luck with your search, maybe the missus will come around to the green, especially if you tell her it's a super rare model lol. :D

Hi
We've had the 1.4 for 2 and a half years. 90% of our journeys are around town which it is ideal for. Mpg is fine..between 35- 40 depending upon whethr a long journey has taken place. However as our only 5 door large vehicle I do feel it is underpowered when it comes to 'A' road and motorway driving. Perhaps this is due to the other vehicle in the family being a 160hp abarth 500 it highlights the tardiness everytime it is driven back to back. I would have no hesitation purchasing anther hence the tjet search as all other aspects of the car are excellent. As wife does not like diesel the multi jet option is a no go.
I may be biased as this is my 15th vehicle from the fiat, alfa, lancia stable.

I must admit I was slightly worried it might be sluggish when we ordered, but the diesels were not an option as we mostly do short school run trips. We're rural, so spend most time on main b-roads with occasional trips into town. A-roads are generally restricted to nipping to the nearest Tesco lol.

I can see why the Abarth might highlight the poorer engine though. Such a shame that Fiat have deemed the 500L to not be worthy of a more sporty engine.

I take it you consider the twinair is probably too underpowered as well? It's the same engine we have in our Panda and while it's a a great little engine for the smaller car, I know it can't possibly be as good in a car weighing 200Kg more!

If only Fiat allowed us that nice 160bhp 1.4 multiair they gave the Americans....
