Wonder if anyone out there can help me please.

Im unable to dim the instrument lights, is there a way to do this? Ive tried searching everywhere but can't find any info?

I do quite a bit of driving which involves alot of night driving and there is quite a bit of glare comes of the speedo etc and its very distracting. Wish it was like the stereo where you can just turn the screen off.

It's a 500L 1.6 multijet lounge.

Hm, did you check the manual ? In my manual it is described how to dim the instruments (page 12).

(Interior light adjustment)
(with side lights on only)
This function is used to set the brightness of the
instrument panel, uconnect™ system controls (for
versions/markets where provided) and automatic
climate control system controls (for versions/
markets where provided) to 8 levels.
Proceed as follows to adjust the brightness:
❒
press button
briefly. The level set previously
flashes on the display;
❒
press button
or
to set the required
brightness level;
❒
press the
button briefly to return to the menu
screen or hold the button down to return to the
standard screen without saving.
Note
On versions with reconfigurable multifunction
display adjustment can be made both with lights off
("daytime" mode brightness level) and with lights
on ("nighttime" mode brightness level).

Hi Ez2517, yeah tried this but all it seemed to do is adjust the brightness of the uconnect system, its the actual instument cluster i am trying to dim down, i just find the white light of the speedo and rev counter etc way to bright at night, cheers

instrument panel, uconnect™ system controls (for
versions/markets where provided) and automatic
climate control system controls', I would have expected that the cluster is meant as well. Gonna try this evening

Nope still no joy, it only adjusting the brightness of the Uconnect system, doh!

Does anybody else's dashboard instrument brightness adjust? or am I stuck with bright white light glaring off my glasses at night?

I tried to try that out recently but was unable to locate the menu at all

I just found the function to switch between day, night and auto display mode on the Uconnect screen.

It works for me.
Menu > Dimmer > and then there are 8 levels (dots) of brightness.
Lights should be swiitched on while doing this.

(Although i don't have uconnect.)

I tried again and found it. Must have been drunk before ;-) on my car the setting dims the brightness of the uconnect screen and the center display between the gauges, but not the brightness of the gauges, as the user manual would suggest.
