I lose right channel stereo intermtantly, I can bring it back by raising volume to high level and back down again. It doesnt seem to occur at any fixed volume point or on bumps and corners. it sometimes will flick on and off rapidly when stationary. Using only the steering wheel volume control doesnt solve the problem. Radio has been in and out by the dealer, connections checked and no fault found. Any sparkies with an idea?
Cheers

Hi there. I'm getting exactly the same thing! I can get it back by fiddling with the balance and fader, but it is a bit odd. I can't reproduce the fault myself, it just happens intermittently.

It's strange. Sometimes it's fine and other times it cuts in and out. It seems worse when using the radio rather than CD function. I am collecting up a number of little jobs for the dealer to look at and I'll ask them to have a look then.

In the old days, I would have suggested it was a dicky soldering joint or similar, but I don't know if they even solder these things these days, lol.

It's not enough to annoy me yet, but I'm just hoping the channel cuts out completely and then it'll be easy to prove. ;)

It's a Windows system, so why do you wonder ? ;-)

No, seriously, 'standard radio' might vary in different countries. Do you have the small UConnect radio with touchscreen but without nav ?

I'm going to check with the dealer whether there is a software update at the next stop at the dealership. Mine takes approx 20 minutes to read the 'directory' of the available MP3 files from my smartphone .... (having approx 250 songs on my phone)

Yes, mine is an Easy, with touch screen Uconnect without satnav or digital radio. I haven't tried the mp3 side of things as there are no songs on my phone, I'm a bit prehistoric on that front. However handsfree works fine on my Motorola Moto, bluetooth connected fine.

I'm about to get an iPhone 6. I wonder whether that will connect ok? :p

I might be getting closer, in frustration I gave the drivers arm rest a (solid) nudge and the sound came back ! How easy is the trim panel to remove? My faith in the dealers is a little strained to say the least.

You mean the panel around the radio ? It is easy to remove, just pull, I think it is easiest to grab near the speedometer where there is a gap between panel and speedometer unit. I didn't even have to use a tool.

Ah ha! Bugger me with an 8 track, you're right! Gave the driver's door armrest a whack and the Nolan Sisters belted through in joyous stereo once again. I am now indeed In The Mood For Dancing......

Panda (in disco mode at the moment!) :D(y)

I had similar problem with my 500L trekking, my dealer replaced the right hand speaker, so far no problems.
