Knock it upwards!

I'm still unsure which way to twist it, but knock the stem up and it'll stay.

How to set the cruise control? I rotate the stalk to turn it on and then. .....what? :)

As said above once it's 'on' (Confirmed by the small green 'speedo' light on the dash) briefly hold the stalk up and remove your foot from the accelerator and the vehicle will retain the speed you are currently travelling at.

To accelerate hold the stalk up and once you reach the desired speed let go to decelerate hold the stalk down and release. (In practice I find it's easier and quicker to change speed using the accelerator and brake and then re-setting the speed by briefly holding the stalk up again).

Whilst the car speed is under is under cruise control using the brake or changing gear temporarily de-activates the speed setting. To revert to your pre-set speed once you are in the correct gear again, simply tap the button on the stalk end and the vehicle will revert to the speed it was last set at.

HTH,

Hay! It works thank you :)

It worKs, but not too well I'm sorry to say :( ....I constantly find it "drifting", from a setting of 124kmh it can go up to 130 and down to 116, the lower doesn't matter too much but the upper can get me fined and even points. Be careful If you're cruising around the limits.

You should check that out at your dealer. We don't have that "symptoms" with ours cruise control and unless you are constantly driving up or down the hill those kind of drifting shouldn't happen. (it is written in the owners manual that this speed alterations happen only when driving in situations as I mentioned above)

There are hills on the highways but very few that I would consider extreme, my company Merc holds +/- 1kmh, the 7 year old Megane I traded in last year for the Trek held +/- 2kmh even fully loaded, first service us in about 3 weeks, I'm definitely bringing this up.

I would ours works just fine and holds a steady speed unless we encounter a stiff gradient, but the manual warns that this will be the case.

This works fine on mine when I have had the occasion to use it

I must admit I use mine a lot particularly in 50mph limits and limits monitored by average speed cameras.

We also use it a lot on the French Autoroutes - our motorways tend to be too much 'slow fast slow again' for it to be useful over here.

Once you've turned on the cruise control accelerate to the desired speed and lift the cruise control stalk for a few seconds to store the setting.
