I bought my new 2014 500L Trekking Fiat in November 2014. Unfortunately, in early January I had an accident and damage was done to the front driver's side of my car. I immediately called my insurance company and brought it to the same dealership to get an estimate for repair. It is now March 16, 2015 and I am STILL waiting to get my vehicle repaired. I am told Fiat cannot get the parts needed to repair it. I was told Fiat did not make enough parts for anything other than new car manufacture. I have f/u with the collision center, my salesperson, Fiat customer service and Fiat Corporate. Assurances were made, in fact, I was told the needed parts would be expedited and available for my vehicle repair on March 16, 2015, today. This did not happen. My brand new car looks like crap. I can't take it to a car wash as there is a jagged, open area. I am very disappointed with how Fiat has handled, or not, this problem. I paid cash for this vehicle. Fiat already has my money and now, apparently feel no obligation to me as a customer. They seem to be much more motivated to sell cars to other consumers who will unwittingly be placing themselves in the same position. I am at my wit's end and tired of getting nowhere. Please be aware of this situation and speak up if it does. This is very poor business practice on the part of Fiat and unbelievable that such a large international company cannot correct this situation. What about trust?

I feel for you.

Is it possible to source the parts needed second hand - from an accident damaged (rear) from a breakers. Ok not an ideal solution but better than having the current situation.

I had an issue with a brand new 2014 500L and just getting a spare tire. Ended up that Tire Rack eventully found one.
FIAT said they hadn't yet made any...after promising one on the sales floor...

So now we have a wrecked car and still no parts....
HOW CAN A manufacturer do this?
I guess all that they care about are sales, not service..
I guess I will say it, FIAT does NOT back/service thier products.

In my case I was able to find aftermarket...
But this poor guy is STUCK!

Hi, if fiat can't get the parts to repair it, then why haven't the insurance company written it off and and paid out so you can get another car.

Regards, Rob

Same thing happened to me. I was in an accident in Feb. which required a new tie rod end. It's been two months and we were told that there were no available tie rod ends in the U.S. After consulting with a representative from Fiat Corporate, she found one in Canada and had it expedited to our service center. We couldn't belive there wasn't any in the entire U.S. It's a fairly common part that needs to be replaced in Northeastern U.S. Their corporate representative was very apologetic and helpful. If not for her our service center wouldn't have cared less if they ever found a part.

So sorry to hear that, I was in an accident last year and waited 2 months for repairs to be done because of body parts not available in Canada. I hope you can find a resolution to this. Agreed i have had a very negative experience so far between mechanical issues and the accident and empathize completely.
Such a disappointment.
Try going on Facebook, I did after a month of run around problems and no answers. It helped. Head office actually acknowledged that there was a problem with my car.

Just unacceptable.

I would try contacting Fiat Italy and kicking up an almighty stink.
