Hello all,

The jet to my rear window has stopped working. I can hear the pump engage as I push the control but nothing.

Then I checked the floor near the reservoir and there was a massive puddle.

Not sure if the line has ruptured, possibly from freezing, or if it has simply disconnected.

Has anyone else come across this?

I haven't but there was a similar issue with 500 washers I seem to recall which was caused by freezing and expansion pushing the pipes off. It may be the exact same issue.

It pays to keep a good concentration in your screen wash with these cars it would seem.

I did on my Grande Punto which the 500l is based on. The pipe split twice in the where it opens and closes by the boot at the top. Poor quality tubing used. It also filled my rear light with water causing electrical issues.

I fixed it myself using small connectors from a green house irrigation kit brought from a garden centre.

It is a known issue here also(on Serbian Fiat forum)-best way is to fix it yourself :) Find some one that will press the washer while you look for the place where pipe got disconected, under the hood.

Had the same issue. The pipe connector had come apart by the bulkhead. Just open the bonnet, pop up the plastic cover between the windscreen and bulkhead on the nearside (prise up the centre pin of the Passaic rivet with two flat screwdrivers) then you can lift enough of the cover to see the problem and fix it. Just push the connectors back together.

Multiplas used to do something similar, the hose used to pop apart at a connector somewhere on its way from front to back. Can't remember where now.

If it's still under warranty, drop it back. Any good dealership should pop out and sort it fairly swiftly.
