Hi,

last Friday I got my new 500L Lounge with the 120 bhp Diesel engine. I drove 400 km now and here are my first impressions:

The car is a lot of fun to drive. However I am not sure whether it was a good idea to choose the 17" wheels. It is a bit too harsh for me, and it does not like to go straight on the highway. The steering is too light IMO at high speeds. I will change to 16" winter tires on weekend, and I am curious how that will affect the ride.

The car is surprisingly quiet inside. I drove up to 140 km/h today and the engine noise is almost completely absent. Wind noise is present but not too bad given the shape of the car. Overall it seems quieter than the Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 HDI that I owned before.

The seats are too short for my legs. However they are firm and the electric back support is great. Also the seat heating is great, I have to switch it off after some minutes because it even gets too hot for me.

I have some issues with the Blue&Me system, especially when I try to get the navigation voice to the speakers. Guess I need to do some more investigation on that. Bluetooth pairing was a pain, phone was not found repeatedly, only after 15 minutes of fiddling around it suddenly and miraculously worked. But even now, when I enter the car, it takes the system up to 10 minutes to automatically connect to the phone. Maybe it is because I have the latest Android version on my Nexus 4 - but that was no problem for the Parrot system on my previous car ...

Overall I am pleased, the car looks great and drives great. And I am happy to have found this place to discuss and sort out any issues that may come up in the future )))

Cheers from Vienna, Austria

I think the same about handling. It doesn't improve with 16". It gets worse! I am not sure why..

Does the car have tomtom attached to the dashboard? In that case there is no way to get sound from the stereo. (which i think is a good thing. I hate that navigation interups the radio)

I have a nexus 5. It connects after 5-10 seconds every time. But my car doesn't have blue and me, but Uconnect.

Hello,

I had an 500L with 16" wheels during summer vacation in Italy, and there I did not notice the harsh ride, so now I thought the 17" would be the reason. I'll see :)

No, I don't have the TomTom preparation. Just the Uconnect radio. I thought that implies Blue&Me, or is the Blue&Me something different ?
Maybe there is something wrong with my phone, since both the Nav messages and the Bluetooth connection seem to make problems.....

Blue and Me and Uconnect are two different systems, although Uconnect does of course use Bluetooth.

Personally I have found Uconnect a far better set up than Blue and me which we had on a 500.

Your harsh ride is probably due to the tyres as fitted to 17inch rims. I tend to avoid such low profiles for that reason, they look nice but there is normally a trade off in terms of ride comfort.

You have chosen a nice colour, I think the L always looks better in dark colours and wish we had chosen similar.
