hello all,
I am due to order my mobility car soon and am looking at the 500l,
what are the difference from the 500l and the 500l trekking?
been very happy with the fiat 500, but need to go a bit bigger!

The trekking has slightly raised ground clearance, it also has mud and snow rated tyres, which give improved grip. It also has a Traction+ system, which is a stronger version of normal traction control to assist in travelling along low-grip surfaces at speeds below 30mph. It also comes with city brake control, which can apply the brakes if it senses that you might crash into something in front of you (this works by shining a laser from the top of the windscreen and checking for reflections). This helps to reduce the insurance cost for the trekking compared to the lounge spec. The trekking also comes with part leather interior, and a specific bodykit which I personally think makes it look better than the standard 500L. I have never once regretted getting our 500L Trekking.
 
And don't forget the bumpers which give Trekking a more off-road look....Everything else is pretty much the same.It looks much better for me to,that is why we bought him :)
 
Problem with the Lounge version now is they took quite a bit of stuff out of it compared to the 13 plate version and are charging more, Pop Star I have ordered is only missing the rear 12v socket (as far as I know), not a real big issue but the price still went up about £160.


Would love to know how they can justify taking things out but still expect you to pay more money.

Taking the 12V socket out was a daft decision certainly, we find it very useful as we have a 12V cool box which sits in the boot on long journeys.

The lead on it would probably stretch to reach the socket in the centre console but that already has a doubler in it on our car for the sat Nav and a USB phone charger.

Quite. It's 2014, and trailing wires about inside the car, when that already once had a necessary power point there, is just madness. It does show how they penny-pinch when costing cars though. All that fuss at present in the US with GM recalling gazillions of cars over a faulty ignition switch is a case in point. The company will lose an absolute fortune in legal claims and recalls, all for the sake of a cent or two when deciding on the supplier of the ignition barrel.
 
hmm thats not great, dont think it will make much difference though.
looking forward to the new car.
