Just tell her all the top marques have it, Mercs, Beemers and the like so it denotes the car as a prestige model  That should sort it.

Re: Spooky fog lights

I was always suspicious of cornering lights as a gimmick but TBH as they only work at a standstill or low speed I find them quite good in confined spaces, however as they are still relatively uncommon I'm not sure how much they could confuse other road users?

If you don't want them on, you can disable them in the menu by using the buttons below the stereo and scrolling through till you find 'Cornering Lights' and select 'Off'.

Hence me saying 'buttons below the stereo', which is specific to the 500L - the Bravo's menu buttons aren't below the stereo as far as I know?

I brought the 500L MPW home from work the other night, so was playing with the menu.

To be fair to the OP lot's of folk buy and operate stuff without reading the user manual from end to end.

This applies as much to TV's, computers as it does to cars.

Personally I always try to locate an electronic version of a manual and familiarise myself with a vehicle before I even pick it up but not every body may realise they can do this.

Me too and they are easy to find for Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia :-)

Re: Spooky fog lights

But just because lots of people don't read the instructions doesn't justify not reading them.

So it isn't unfair to the OP to point this out, is it.

I'm just meaning it's quite common.

You see it behind a lot of the questions in this forum and others. The problem is if every body read the manual there would be half the traffic on sites such as these.

Re: Spooky fog lights

That wouldn't be a problem, that would be wonderful

Obviously cars are now very technical and becoming as infuriating to deal with as computers can be. And Marchionne has said that half the development costs of a modern car now go on the electronic systems - I understand that. And we all know how impenetrable computers can be, since they are designed by people steeped in an understanding of their own subject who often fail miserably at communication. Ironically

But I can't understand how, after spending thousands on a new car, people don't get home, make a cup of coffee, and sit down with the instruction manual for an hour.

Perhaps fiat should consider building how to use you car apps for future models? Just so long as they don't assume like most of the commercial world that only apple products are worthy of support.....

That's all well and good but if you can't change channel on a telly its not going to hurt anybody, if your startled by the lights you didn't know were going to come on you could kill someone in a car.

beware of dodgy fog lights - assuming they are turning LEFT off roundabouts without signalling ,
or worse still driving for miles with left indicator going add a left FOG light ONLY,
somebody is Bound to pull out in front of them

Re: Spooky fog lights

For anybody who has these but doesn't want to use this feature be aware you can turn them off so that they only function as fog lights.

It's in menu > Cornering lights > on/off

Re: Spooky fog lights

I was next to one the other night as it did a uey beside me on a wide dual carriageway - obviously lost.

I noticed in my mirror that only one of the front daytime? lights was on as it did the wide loop to turn around, and I thought of this thread
