Hi all

Would like to fit DAB into 500L with full integration and minimum cost. Any advice??

Well if you can find a written off 500l maybe a second hand dab radio but in all likelihood you'll need to make a trip to the dealership with a sack of bank notes

Why not buy one with DAB in the first place most models came with it.

Maybe swap it in for a better model may work out cheaper in the long run

I was under the impression I could add a DAB aerial unit that would integrate into current standard radio unit? I appriciate choosing DAB when choosing model would be cheaper but for various reasons we had to get what was available at the time.

Not exactly what you were asking but one option to think about (and this is what I do).

If you have a smart phone with Bluetooth (I use an iPhone 4) use an app. such as 'tunein' which pulls together radio stations from across the UK and across the world.

I then use the Bluetooth to stream the music to the dash unit and it works a treat. It sometimes breaks up if the phone signal is weak but this is rarely an issue on main routes as the networks tend to cover these pretty well.

Obviously it uses data but if you have a good allowance (I have unlimited) it can be a good way to do it.
