Hello to all. I have just ordered my Fiat 500L Easy Twin Air in Darkwave black, today! I have owned Myrtle the Multipla for just over four years and she has been a stalwart, but it was time to move on. So I have bittten the dust and gone for it. Looking forward to spending some time on this forum now.

be warned 500L ownership seems to be an extremist sect of the fiat ownership community ;) as you've probably seen from some of the posts in here

Will be interesting to see how you compare you multipla with the new 500L and many consider the multipla to be a better car

:D Thanks Andy, I'll put me tin hat on....:p

Actually I've been an active member of Multipla forums for a few years and even organised weekends away for them, in Kent, a few times. I am about to attend the last ever Ugly Bug Ball as well, taking Myrtle for the last time before she gets traded in...

I am actually the Town Sergeant and Town Crier of Sandwich, in Kent, and I am going to use the 500L to chauffeur the Mayor of Sandwich, (as I did Myrtle). It was the decent rear lefroom that drew me to the Multipla and now the 500L. I am sure the 500L will look as proud among the Mercs, Lexus's (Lexi....?), Bmw's, 300c's, Superbs and so on, as Myrtle did. And I'll tell you, only the Superb had greater rear legroom behind the drivers seat than the Multipla did. I am six two and with the drivers seat as far back as it would go, I could still very comfortably get behind it. There aren't many sensibly priced cars with that much legroom. But the 500L is not too far away.

And anyway, I wanted another Fiat...... So when I have her, I'll post a picture of her with Mr Mayor and alongside some of the oposition. We'll see how she looks. (y)

Popped in to the showroom last Saturday to see how it's getting on. Apparently it's cleared to be built....... Booooo. Bored of waiting now and had to re-tax the Multi. :(

Hi, I too am bored of waiting! I ordered mine on 23 April and it's finally built and was sent on it's way on 25 June. I had an update today and it could still be another 3 weeks! I have never waited so long for a car! I hope I blooming like it.

Well Myrtle is kicking up a fuss at the thought of going and ate through the inner shoulders of her two front tyres while I wasn't looking! I knew they were close to the mark but I didn't look closely enough. Oops..... ;)

Consequence is one new front tyre now and the other alloy has gone to be repaired at a specialists cos it's got a dent in the rim (I knew this but it was keeping pressure so I ignored it cos I'm trading her in...). Tyre place quite rightly refused to believe me that it held pressure with this dent in it so having it repaired. :(

All this is due to the fact that this 500L is taking so long to come......

Also on the way to wheel specialist. ABS light came on......

And when I got in, there is a brochure from the Fiat dealer inviting me to buy accessories for a car I don't bloody own yet! :bang: Comical really! :D

Anything from 8-12 weeks sounds quite normal for a factory order. Our 500 with a few options took 8 weeks from order to collection, which was quicker than we expected, but anything under 3 months seems reasonable to me.

The likes of VW & Hyundai have been known to be more than double that (and you've only got a VW or Hyundai to look at at the end of it all)

I wasn't given a delivery date as such, but 6-8weeks was suggested. I have recently recieved a phone call to say that the car has been consigned and that the dealer is registering the vehicle, so it is in the UK.

The slightly annoying thing is that I am going to reciebe a 13 plate vehicle a couple of weeks before the new registration plate comes out.

Do you know what though? I am still very excited! :)

STOP PRESS - IT'S ARRIVED!

And they are very kindly hanging on to it so it will have a new registration.not a '13 plate. Excellent news!

Going to sort out the paperwork on thursday. Hoorah!

:) Picked it up today! She's called Elsie! Initially, very pleased. The Uconnect sytem for bluteooth and the like seems a little temperamental, but that's to be expected, it's Fiat electrics!

Overall can't fault it so far really. First little niggle is tha there is no little shelf or anything on the drivers side, for phone, keys and such like. But that really is being picky. Essentially, she seems great. Will let you know as I go on.

Here is the first picture of her. For some reason it's sdeways but I don't know how to square it up. It straight on my desktop?

Just loving my Twin Air (white) too
Closest thing to my old beloved Multipla (had that 8 years and loved every second of it)
There is definitely something Multipla-esque about it.
Had mine 2 months and just want to drive it all the time - make excuses to drive it somewhere !!
That engine is so addictive - always brings big smile to my face
