General Better in the flesh

The Bravo had a speed beep (rather than limiter), but it was set by the "computer" rather than the cruise control. IIRC it was fairly ridiculous to set up and couldn't be done whilst driving safely. Glad they've improved that, sounds very good now (y)

There seems to be good attention to detail like that on the 500L. Another example is the 12V socket in the boot or the rear door pockets with cup holders.

Makes you wonder how they ballsed up the rear headroom if you spec a glass roof (legroom plenty for basketball players), oh well.. nothing's perfect.

One thing I wish manufacturers would pick up on is the placement of usb sockets! Why not put it in the glove locker, where I keep my ipod, so I don't have to have cables trailing across the dashboard for no good reason! It would be a lot more secure.

Ah yes @500L, have seen those - very neat, and more than enough capacity. Maybe I need to go and re-check to see if there's isn't a socket in the glove box!

This is what it looks like installed. HTH.
The large thing in the cubby is the USB stick plug cap :)
They are fairly slow memory sticks but it really doesn't matter for this application.
Have 28 GB on mine so plenty to go at.

The problem is all mine I'm afraid, you see I don't really like red cars.

Apologies to other members

Now, had it been white, or a pastel blue (y), or even a dark grey with perhaps a black roof... I'm impossible you see.

But the L is smaller in the wild than in the showroom - of course - but still looks interesting. It looks quite narrow relative to its length, I think, but I didn't want to spend too long studying it in case I lookled like a fully paid up weirdo instead of just a novice. I didn't even dare look inside.

But I had just been at my dealer anyway, having a minor thing done to my car, and I was told they were selling quite a few, and there were indeed three on the forecourt and one in the showroom, one red and three whites...

I love the red interiors by the way.

I'd have one if I could afford it.

You're right it doesn't look as big as you'd think once you get it home. It's a good size, still small enough for narrow-ish roads, cities, etc. It is very tall, taller than SUVs (Cashcow 1610 mm, 500L 1660 mm, Mazda CX5 1670 mm). Absolutely massive inside. With it being around the same size as the Bravo (apart from the height), it makes you wonder where all the room went in the Bravo.

Height and upright seating positions, plus very little tumblehome to the side windows, are all what make for a roomy car.

Which is why I'm on my second Doblo. Vertical sides and a box on wheels - I love the concept (y)

Lots of free space above your head may seem like a waste, but just as in a house a high 'ceiling' gives a huge sense of spaciousness.

Noticed the square arches aren't just for show either, they put the wheels as outboard as possible, the front wheels overhang the front bumper!

The rear light clusters are almost stuck on the outside to give more boot space too.

How do square wheel arches equal more outboard wheels?

On modern cars the bumpers are just an extension of the body work most front bumpers extend into the wheel arch area.
