First question is why do you want to change the bulbs on a brand new car ?

As pointed out if one is blown I’d throw it back at the dealer but you seem to suggest you’re planning to change both? So are you plan planning some sort of aftermarket bulb.

Also in the picture you’ve posted it shows a projector type head light which these days are almost always HID and looking at the Fiat website they seem to suggest these are HID head light units in which case there is no upgraded bulb you could fit.

Finally let’s not ignore this perfectly sensible answer that was already posted

The Facelift has led units there so no access in. Needed
If you have LED head lights there is no changing the bulb

Re: No access to main beam bulb?

The facelift model does not have LED or HID for the dipped or high/main beams. They are both H7 halogen bulbs.

HID is and option for dipped beam and I think some of the Abarths have them as standard, but the units look different.

It was a pain to replace bulbs through the flap so Fiat decided to use new liners without the flap so you will have to remove some screws (3 I think) to remove the liner.
(that's what they told me when I called Fiat's support line. They didn't sound very convinced about heir answer though)

Good luck getting a bulb changed under warranty.

Many cars now require a degree of dismantling to replace bulbs and a dealer will be able to quote a fixed price for changing it.

Mine is a 2020 595 Tursimo and it has this flap on both sides...luckily, because I replaced high beams and DRLs by LED.

Never had a problem. Have needed this with a couple of Corsas and a Fiesta in the last few years.

Even BL/Rover Group, who quibbled about every warranty claim, would accept bulb failures, as long as the blown bulb was returned to them. (I was a warranty claims manager for a large BL dealer for several years, then latterly on the other side of the fence, handling claims for a large aftermarket parts supplier. No issues with bulbs, as long as the old one returned. Need to ensure it is as supplied, not just someone else's very old one.)

In the past my wife took my old Punto into the fiat dealer to get a bulb replaced. She had been driving the car a lot and a headlight bulb went out. She tried to change it herself with one from the spare bulb kit but couldn’t get the old one out, so she drove to the fiat dealer round the corner who ended up taking the front bumper off, so they could take the light unit out to change the bulb, they put it all back together for her and when she went to drive off having not been charged a penny the spare bulb she had was still on the passenger seat so they even put a free new bulb in.

At the time the car was about 6-7 years old so well out of warranty

Re: No access to main beam bulb?

I am looking to replace the high/main beam h7s with aftermarket ones (LED specifically) - I've done the dipped beam ones (the projector type ones that are accessible through the engine bay) and wanted to do the second cluster as well.

The car is indeed brand new, but it was manufactured in 2020 - German spec - not sure if that makes it different than other countries, but it seems mine does not have the flap/latch.

I will try removing the liner and get back with my findings - just glad I am not the only one with the same liner.

Do it, it´s really an improvent!

Low beam:

Low beam + high beam:

My fogs are still halogen (Osram Allweather)https://www.fiatforum.com/attachment...1&d=1631778044, but I don´t find yellow LEDs that have the vertical H3 filament orientation...

Low beam and fog lights:

Re: No access to main beam bulb?

Flap or not, unless you have tiny hands (and can see round corners) it's generally easier to remove the wheel and wheel arch liner anyway to get access to those lower bulbs....

You can generally just remove the front fixings for the liner and pull it back, without removing completely.

Re: No access to main beam bulb?

Just an update - I managed to install the bulbs yesterday and had to remove the wheels, pop a few screws off the liner just enough to access the headlight unit.

To reply one of the comments here - the liner is OEM and has not hatch/door/flap - the car came like this when we picked it up from the Fiat dealership.

I assume the newer ones are like this.

Loving the new lights!
