Just following on from the facelift tail light topic.


Has anyone swapped the old DRL lights for the new LED ones into a pre facelift?
Are they a straight swap or need some work?

I’ve thought about it but not done it .. the connections will be different so some wiring will need to be done! Not sure how but I can’t imagine it would be too difficult
I’d thought about tracking down the new style connector to wire up to the loom so they would be plug n play
I just upgraded my bulbs to the brighter whiter blue ones and I’m ok with that

I believe they are ever so slightly different shapes but not 100% on that

Think you're right, and the LED will cause error messages(not hard to sort) but how much would they cost including the harness?

Looking at them on ebay, the mounting is completely different too.

You need the complete bumper of the facelift due to different shape. And load resistors for the position lights.

No, not really necessary. It's due to the tow
hook. Pre-facelift is at lower right side, facelift upper right side at the crash beam. No problem to weld...
If you want only the look you can go for those lights...available with also the indicator included if you want to have also an evil look hood.
