Morning all,

I've got a query on my 2013 500 1.2 S regarding the colour.

Sounds stupid, I know but the colour code on the plate says it's Bianco 268/A but the car is most definitely red. It's not been resprayed (the code sticker is actually on top of the red paint on the boot lid) so I'm presuming someone in the factory had an off day and just put whatever they had handy on there.

I'm presuming it is really Pasadoble red? From looking at the forums that would appear to be the one ... it's a solid red, no sparkle or pearlescent...but just wanting to check with those more conversant with Fiat's foibles before I fork out for a touch-up and find it's the wrong colour.

Many thanks!

Hi :)

Thats random isnt it..

Check to see if there is a more permanent paint CODE elsewhere..

VIN plate maybe..?

Charlie

Nothing that looks like a colour code on the VIN plate unfortunately.

I've had a good mooch around under the bonnet, boot and doors and there's nothing else pertaining to colour. Even the service book hasn't had it filled in on the vehicle details page which is ....useful :D

I'm 'pretty' sure it will be Pasadoble ....wish I'd got the body shop to make up a touch up when I had the front end resprayed last year which is when I first realised it identified as white - they had to use the colour scan thing to work out what colour to mix :)

Pretty sure there's a white 500 somewhere with a "rosso"sticker...

My new Stilo had sprayed (as it should have) doorhandles on one side and plain black ones on the other side when I picked it up at the dealer. Took me a few days to realize.
All sorted later, but not everything is foolproof in the factories.

The boot sticker is the only place that they put a sticker but how weird is that? There are many names for the red colour but it’s 111/A

What colour is on the V5 form?

It's red on the V5 ... I think it's just the sticker was put on - probably the only one they had to hand as it passed that part of the production line :)

Cheers! I had in the meantime popped along to the lovely W Sanders in Devon and they confirmed it's 111/A and as you say...sometimes called Pasadoble, sometimes not :)

It would be "minty red" according to the Queen of the Sith (aged 3 1/2).

Or Pasadoble that identifies as Bossa Nova.. :D

I'm guessing there was a labelling malfunction... since I suppose they would paint cars in batches of the same colour rather than cleaning out all the equipment for each subsequent colour.

The stickers would be on a sheet and the line employee would just stick one to each car as it comes out of the paint shop...

So, there must have been a sheet with just one label on it and they didn't notice.

And if they had a label for an extra white car that they didn't end up using... what happened to the missing white car..? :chin:

Hmmmm.....
