Hi - my 2014 F500 TA is coming up for its 2nd service (36,000) and the service warning reminder is now being displayed on start-up. I do my own servicing now its not in warranty so does any one know how i reset or remove the warning please?

By the way, i change the oil and filter every 9000 miles and i think i read somewhere that there is something else to reset? This will be its 4th oil n filter change but i've never seen any dash warnings or had to reset anything?

I think you may need to invest in the software to do this. ecu scan from Gendan.co.uk works well and is fairly comprehensive in allowing checks and resets of many systems and resetting of warnings. It will reprogram keys and reset service and oil change indicators. It has saved me its cost many times over in two years. Gendan are friendly and helpful with queries too and there is a user forum that's interesting and informative.

Where are you based. I am in mid Norfolk and can assist with my copy if you are nearby.

You need Multiecuscan (MES) software to reset the service indicator (there's a section of the forum where people (like me) are willing to help people out with a plug in).

On the TwinAir you're also meant to perform an oil reset so that the uniair system recalibrates for fresh oil. I've never been fully sure how vital that is, but if you have or get MES then it's easy enough.

If you happen to be in West Kent (?!) drop me a PM....!

When my wife's 1.2 Pop reached 30,000km (18,000ml) a 'Service' message came up on the screen at start-up but it disappeared after a couple of weeks without anything being done.

My TA has just passed 30,000km but no message appeared - possibly due to the dealer performing the 30k service requirements at three years and only 17,000km.

Thank you. I'm in Leeds. I will investigate this. (y)

Service indicator is in the menu giving a spurious time and distance to next service. Seems to confuse the miles and kms sometimes. Its sort of accurate but.... You cannot rest this from the menu. I don't know if it goes off after a while when the date and miles is gone as my car is always serviced and resetbut doubt it as its an ECU function. When you reset the ecu it enters the days to go. Mine does not stick with the values I give it and varies shortening the service interval somewhat. I cannot work out why.

On fiats normally the Service indicator will show for the first 5 services then will switch off unless its switched back on. So it doesn't tend to come up on older cars if you've bought it second hand.

you can try the turn the key on but don't start the car, press the throttle pedal 3 times, then turn the key off, when you turn it back on the service light should be gone.

Loads of videos on youtube showing this.

Had our 500TA 105 for 18months now and although I've changed oil & filter twice we've never had the service light come up. Any ideas why?
I dont have Multiecuscan either so haven't done an oil reset either.
Car is running well with no issues.

IIRC if you do nothing, the service reminder stops nagging after some preset conditions which I can't remember just now. If you bought it secondhand, the previous owner may have run past this point without the service interval being reset. This is not necessarily an indication that it wasn't serviced by someone, though I'd expect it to be reset correctly as part of a franchised dealer service.

Sounds about right, it wasn't new to us & the first few services were done by Fiat until warranty expired then indies looked after it. Now its me are thet are pretty straight forward to look after.
Thanks for the info
