My daughter's 2008 Sport does this. It spends most of its life parked while she's at university and then the display fails to work. Drive the car for a hour or so and get some heat into it and it comes back to life (for some reason with a short phase of what looks like Cyrillic text).
All is ok until it's left in the damp for extended periods again.
I suspect it won't be self-healing so it's good to know there are DIY fixes
Hi Folks
I'm a newbie with a very similar issue to MadAlicesDad - My daughter's 2016 500 Lounge is showing the same dead screen after sitting unused while she's at Uni.
Battery is charged, No fuses blown, but no tacho, no warning lights - it's just dead. My daughter has not reported any of the usual warning signs of dim lights, spurious warnings etc.
I've not tried driving it for a while to warm it up yet - I was going to check the power first so am looking for the pinnot for the IP connector so that I can check power and ground before looking into, what looks an expensive IP replacement exercise.
I was wondering if (apart from power/ground checks at the IP connector) there were any ideas to deffo confirm that the IP needs repair/replacement?
Also if anyone has the pinout information for the IP connector(s) that would be appreciated too please.
Thanks
JohnM
