Hello

The hinge on my daughter's twinair just broke. She's also had an issue with the car not locking which I'm assuming is an actuator problem as it sometimes won't lock even with the key or central locking. It does lock from the inside though. Trouble is, I don't know which side is faulty.


Do folk think I should just change the actuator whilst I'm doing the hinge? (I may have answered my own question here)

Just investigated this a bit further and the door locks fine now - it seems to be when the car is cold or has been sitting for a while that it doesnt want to lock. Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

If you've changed the hinge, I've had problems in the past when I've changed hinges and complete handles where I've done the hinge nut up a bit too tight and it causes tension which when the door locks, it just unlocks again. Try loosening the nut off a bit.

I fitted a new hinge using the guide posted elsewhere on the site. As soon as I had the door panel off I could see someone else had changed that hinge in the past too. Sadly they hadn't made a great job of it.


I took my time and it all seems tickety boo now. Time will tell I guess. Thanks for taking the time to help.
