Hi guys,

I have a 64 plate Fiat 500S which I purchased in September.

I haven't driven it too much due to lockdown but got in it on the weekend after a few weeks of not driving and my car was filled with mould in the footwells, boot and passenger door. I knew this would be due to a leak where its been damp but have only just been able to find the area it started from since having it cleaned.

In the rear passenger footwell is where the water is coming from, but underneath the car? No leaks from roof/seals etc but its underneath the floor? Does anyone know what runs beneath this part of the car or what could be causing it? It puddles up to the point where I had to use 3 towels and then hairdryer it 2 days ago to dry it. Then 1 day ago I checked and no more water had really appeared but was still a bit damp but now today it is just as bad again?

The garage I purchased the car from is currently closed due to lockdown so am unable to get them to look into it until its open, but wanted to know if anybody knew anything as I don't want mould re appearing (n)

Most often split rear screen wash pipe, often caused by using too little screen wash in the mix?
Can be fixed, if it is this, by using a pipe connector available easily including Halfords.

The box sections under the car can fill with water but it comes from underneath not inside the car.

Also the vent in the rear scuttle may cause issues, but its unlikely to get to the rear floor pan unless facing downwards? do you have a sunroof?

100% rear washer pipe, especially with the cold spell we've just had. Is it dry in front passenger as mine went just by the footwell

One of the easiest things you can do on any car with a leak is to taste the liquid, this will in most cases give you an indication what it is. Obviously in this case people in the know, know what the leak is.

get some of those de humidifiers from asda ect… in the auto care section they look like little pillows they soak up moisture in the car and are re usable! I have 4 of em in my 500
