Hi guys,

Just changed the cambelt, waterpump and thermostat on my 2010 Fiat 500 1.2 8v. The car drove home fine from the shop. Later on in the day I started it and the Check Engine light came on. It seems to not come after three starts.

The car seems sluggish if I drive it with the engine light on. Drives fine with the light off. Definitely an intermediate problem. Scanned for fault codes and got the following:

- P0800
- UOF22

I can't seem to find any reference online to what these code errors may be.

Does anybody have any ideas? Car has been running flawlessly up until now.

Any help would be appreciated.

The belt could possibly be a tooth out but this does sound like a common complaint after a cambelt change on the 1.2 FIRE that most owners suffer.
I suspect that P0800 is in fact P0300 (multiple misfires).

The position between the cam angle sensor and the crank postion sensor needs to be relearnt with a "Phonic Wheel Relearn" as the old belt would have stretched over the years and the position between the two would have adapted over time.

There are plenty of posts on the forum about it, try using the search box to search "Phonic Wheel".

There is a provision in the MES diagnostic software to perform this, but I believe you can do it without by letting the engine warm up properly, reving up to 5000rpm for a second or two then letting the engine return to idle, do this three times in a row before switching the engine off.

I would get the timing marks checked first though.
