Hi guys, I'm new to the group and needed some advice.

I have a 2010 1.2 Fiat 500 which is just rapidly clicking when trying to start the car but fails to start. It only starting rapidly clicking, before it would try to start then give up.

To start it, a battery pack has to be used and the car will start and drive with no problems. However, if I turn the car off, it will not start again.

The battery has been taken off and charged and the spark plugs have been changed.

The lights, centre consul and radio is working but the car just refuses to start.

N.b, the battery has not been changed since I've owned the car (6 years) and my S.S stopped working months ago.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

You need to buy a new battery. Make sure you buy one that is specified for S/S use.

AND you'll need a new earth strap from the body to the gear box this in itself even with a new battery can give the same result , EBay 250-300mm long 25mm2 8mm holes each end.
Try the Batterymegastore.com for a battery

100% new earth strap as john202020 stated as for a new battery I HIGHLY recommend Varta silver dynamic AGM stop/start battery!!
slightly more than (most) out there but I got one for £118.50 on ebay as my s/s hasn't worked properly all year! with this battery.....works every time!
