Eh up all,

My daughters car is due it’s mot tomorrow, like the little 8h!3 knows and has decided to blow the DRL bulb.

No problem thinks I having replaced these before, fitted new one and nowt. DRL fillimemt not working but other functions fine.:confused:

As it’s shown signs of damp in the lense I pulled the green multi plug suppling powers and it’s wet through. Tried to clean connections up but still no joy, also back of DRL bulb holder wiring looks poor and the actual plastic holder looks brittle- I thinks it’s FUBAR:bang:

Anyway I think a DRL bulb on a 2011 car is not a failure if all other lighting functions correctly- any body got a definitive on that .

Will fit a used lamp as soon as I can - just need to get one - on that note Typecastboy PM sent (y)(y)

As always all help appreciated

Funky spike

Cheers for that - not got MES so cannot acces to turn off

Thought it was 2018 onwards but not fussed least you think it’s correct they don’t test.(y)

It’s only her DRL element on the T20 bulb that’s gone on the passenger side , the main, flash and high etc all function fine.

Just need to find a used DRL and see if that fixes it.

Should be able to turn the daytime running light off via the dashboard or radio on post 2015 cars don't need mes

Cheers pal - will have a quick look at that - never thought it would be on a selectable menu

one of my new drl,s keeps misting up! ive replaced all my lights for brand spanking new ones too... very VERY annoying to me!
I even took out my drl,s again and sealed them all the way around with a thick layer of clear sealant yet one still get moisture...
will have to investigate... maybe its down to the rubber on the back!? I just don't want my crystal clear lenses ending up like my old ones!

Turning off the DRLs was in the menu accessible via the two little buttons near the speedo on my 2011 Lounge. The menu options appear in the middle of the speedo binnacle.

Eh up all,

For information car passed even with DRL out because it’s prior to 2018 models.

Typecastboy - thanks for the reply no idea where the PM went

Can anyone confirm a set of 2014 DRLs will fit my 2011 model, from the pictures they look the same and are not LED type

Cheers

Eh up, can’t compare as not got access to part number without stripping lamp out and don’t want to strip it twice if I can help it.

I’m assuming they will fit as I don’t think the models have changed- just want to be sure.

Cheers

Get the aseembly up on the parts site.

Compare 2011 numbers with 2014

( half the time any number visible on a plastic part .. has little to do with FIAT ;) )

Any chance of a link to the site (y)

Yes they will. They are all the same until the facelift.

Wifes had moisture in the passenger side drl lens. I put it down to the a water ingress somewhere, as no matter how much I tried to dry it, (Hairdryer etc.) I came to the conclusion that the corner had at some point before she owned it, had a small tap and broken the seal around the lens. A new one was ordered, fitted, and no more misting.

As for the green plug, hers was the same with water getting into the connections, and one of the terminals had corroded, meaning the drl bulb wasn't working. the plug was pulled apart, and a new terminal fitted. This was done by an auto electrician. Now working good. I reckon the water into the plug, was caused by the wheel arch flap missing when she bought it, and knackering the internals of it. That got replaced, but I haven't checked it since to see if it is dry.

Did you cable tie the flap in place, if you don't it might not be there long or even still there?

I note new 500's late 19 plate onwards don't have drls
