Just bought a 2015 1.2 Lounge as the family's city runabout. Although my wife will dispute that as she wants it to be HERS!

Recently we've both being doing lots of city driving in a 5.5 Merc E Class which is ruinous in terms of petrol. And what with problems with Covid/tubes/school runs we'll be doing a lot more.

It's the perfect foil to the Merc - small, light, nimble, simple. But's it's a very similar dark blue metallic. And I managed to find one with leather. Happy days.

Thanks to all on here who helped me navigate through the hundreds of 500's out there.

Looks very nice, love the seats. Good to have a varied garage!
It's around the age for a cambelt change, so if it hasn't been done it's worth doing so in the next few months.

Thanks - and I really hope the seat colour's OK in the flesh. As the car is in Huddersfield and I'm in London I don't get to atually see it until it's dropped off at their nearest branch in Milton Keynes and I've never see a 500 with that colour leather.

Thanks for the warning on the cambelt - I'll get that done sooner rather than later.

Yes, it's nice to have some variety. Two cars from opposite ends of the scale. Very good at different things.

After a bit of a struggle over Friday night/Saturday morning the deposit went through and it's off the market.

I've seen the service history (4 stamps over the first 4 years & 12k) and now it's being prepped & serviced before being stuck on a transporter and send down the nearest branch to me which in in Milton Keynes.

Assuming it's all good I'll have a one previous owner 14k miles car with all the stamps, a year's MOT and a years RFL (all of £20! Love it!).

I've no idea if it has any extras other than the leather as the listing was pretty light on detail. But I'm used to that. I've bought 3 x Mercs from dealers absolutley stuffed with kit that the traders knew nothing about - usually by using the Merc VIN decoder + a bit of model knowledge.

I can't find a Fiat VIN decoder that shows the equipment/extras. I've search this site to no avail.

Anyone know of one I could use?

Tired that thanks bit got "VIN not found".

Other sites know the VIN but don't hand back a full spec sheet.

No worries I'll find out soon enough what it's got.

I'm basically interested in whether the original owner went for DAB and maybe Android Auto (if, indeed, the latter was even available in Oct 2015).

If not I'll look to see if it's easy enough to retrofit.

The 500C Lounge my wife ran until recently was of similar vintage and didn't have DAB, but it didn't have Nav either so you may be lucky.

I suspect its too early to have phone mirroring.

This one's got Nav which I think was standard at that point? Maybe not.

DAB was certainly a cost option in 2015.

And, yes, I think the Android Auto/Apple Car Play only came later. It's not essential but it's nice to be able to opertate Spotify through the car's controls. All hire cars I've had recently have had it.

Edit; Aha! I found a November 2015 pricelist which bundles DAB in with the Nav option. Hope that's the case for an Oct 2015....!

My wife's was registered in September 2015, so the Lounge trim for the 500C didn't include Nav then. Manufacturers mess around with specs all the time, so it could have been standard when yours was built, or specified as an option. The head unit in her car looked the same as yours, it just didn't have a Nav button.
Anyway, happy days for you!

Fingers crossed. My other car is a 2010 E Class with a massive spec - too many toys to list - but was built about six months before phone streaming became available. Gah. And the buyer had paid for tons of kit but not DAB.

The one before also had loads of extras including an tremendous Harmon Kardon sound system. But again, no DAB.

It's not a deal braker as the Lounge I've bought has loads of the most important bits of kit. But DAB would be a nice surprise.

Brilliant - that worked.

Right, assuming the data card is 100% accurate (in my experiance there are often ambiguities unless you're hugely familiar with any given particular model) it's got two things that I think are standard that I didn't know it came with;

- stop start (love it)
- climate (wasn't expecting it)

Looks like the owner specced the following options;

- metallic paint (£350)
- leather (£1,000)
- electric sunroof (£300)
- nav & DAB (£650)

So £2.3k of extras.

If that's accurate then my wife will over the moon to get an opening sunroof, I'm delighted with stop/start & DAB on top of the more obvious things we knew we were getting (ie Nav, met paint & leather).

Fingers crossed as that would be a brilliant spec and bullseye for what we wanted which was a dinky car with all the toys you'd normally get on something sveral classes up.

It's also listed as having "Uconnect access via mobile".

I'm assuming that that means that I can bluetooth stream phone calls rather that use Andoid Auto for Spotity etc?

I'm assuming I'll need to plug the phone into Aux to play music from it.

That welill be for the uconnect live app
It shows your journeys and current fuel status as well as where your car is parked

The basic radio should support Bluetooth audio streaming

Aha - does Uconnect mean I can run the live version of TomTom?

That would be a real bonus (ie being able to get updates on current traffic, accidents, speed cameras, revised journey times, etc).

The dealer confirmed today that it does indeed have the electric tilt/slide sunroof. Result. That wasn't on the listing & my wife is very very happy.

I'm pretty confident that it will also have DAB. Seriously hope so.

And hopefully it will also have Uconnect Live although, having read a few threads, my car may have missed the cut. Someone said U Live was from Sep 2015 on and my build date is 28 August 2015.....

More to the point I still don't know when I'll be able to get my hands on it. The garage has done the service, valet & paint correction. The transport is booked. And that's all that I/they know.

Worst case scanario is 10 days from order confirmation to pick which would mean next Tuesday. By some miracle it could pop up in Milton Keynes over the weekend but I doubt it.

I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas.

The good news is that it's been seviced, cleaned and machine polished.

The bad news is that it's still in Huddersfield. Sigh :-(

I really really hope thet get their act together and managed to get it down here during the week so I can pick it up at the weekend.

Right; I can't wait any longer.

I've booked a day off tomorrow and I'm on the 9.30 out of Kings X.

Then a 186 mile return leg. Should give me time to get used to it :)

The car, or Huddersfield? ;).

Have a safe journey, and enjoy a nice day out!

Looking forward to some pictures when you get back (of the car, not Huddersfield ).

Thanks, will do. It'll be interesting to see how it does on the motorway and also what it'll do economy-wise.

The car it's replacing was a 20 year old Clio which showed 24mpg on the OBC. My mate's 500 shows double that and that's also a London car.

You can see why the Clio wasn't ULEZ exempt......
