Dear all, see it on nearly all 500c with leather / cloth interior, drivers side seat ,right hand base swab tears....can the Base cover be removed / repaired ?

Yes it can be removed but you'd likely struggle to get it reattached in the right position again and held correctly as the are normally held with thick heavy duty staple.like fixings

Um....eyes open for a new seat....can’t see another way of resolution...what a waste though.....thinking cap on...and leather covers....except original...not really wanted...

There are quite a few posts of people installing seat heating (which you should do anyway when the cover is off already), and they all managed to get it back on fine. The seat base can be removed easily so you can work comfortably on a workbench.

The wire clamps are a pain, but with the tool shown you can get new ones fixed ok. Removing the old ones needs a pair of strong pliers or a small bolt cutter.

Alternative to use is cable ties. They are strong enough and easy to handle.
