Spotted this in the window of my fiat dealership while out on a dog walk this evening (government sanctioned exercise)

And it’s a seemingly normal fiat 500, not some biposto or ferrari mash up, but it’s over £20k !!! I who would pay so much for such a small car? I noticed it seems to be a convertible it has a weird zebra print roof so this must give some clue to it being some sort of special model ??

Blimey, that's a bit steep. Still, 10 grand less than Aston Martin were asking for a Cygnet a few years ago!

One of our neighbours had a cygnet and while it was bloody expensive, they were very luxurious with everything covered in leather, plus you had to buy a DB9 to get one so you know a bit of a gimmick, also it has a Aston Martin badge not a fiat badge.

Yes, an ex workmate of mine had an IQ for commuting. Very clever little car, and when I spoke to him recently it had done over 100,000 miles without issues.
I'm guessing the 500 you saw had every available extra and the dealer was hoping that, given the lack of new cars being made, someone would pay top dollar. Were they trading - all of the new car dealers around me have shut up shop.

It had pristine 'factory paint' :)
It was then painted 'as an aston'.. ;)

All added to the INDIVIDUALITY :p

Nope they have shut. Signs in windows saying they won’t reopen till the lockdown is lifted. This model with the red stripe around the body and the black and white roof appears on the fiat website repeatedly, in pictures but without any info

Last summer/autumn's special edition, 500C Dolcevita - list price £21,310. You can now add the 'Dolcevita Pack' (leather seats and wooden dashboard) to the Lounge and Star versions for a cool £2250.

It’s this year’s special model, so the list price may he right. Our Spiaggina 58 also had a list price of over 20k€. With various Sales incentives it ended up in the 15k range.

So... Found out what it is the New 500C Dolcevita
Fancy wooden dash, leather seats, all mod cons and a fancy stripped roof.

Still a 69hp 1.2litre engine though so not sure they are really justifying their £21k price tag. Also it looks lovely in italy, driving through the country and parking by restaurants on the coast, but in muddy rural norfolk with the nearest beach being Great Yarmouth it doesn't stir the imagination.

Wow so anew 20 plate not even the new engine for that price

Norfolk is lovely!

It is, but the pure white car with the white wheels, white leather interior and blue and white striped roof might not look so good after a week of driving round the countryside of rural Norfolk in the winter, once it’s splattered from head to toe with mud and pig poop.

Yeah, our first holiday in Norfolk was in the autumn of 2011, in my 6 month old 500 Lounge twinair, in bossa nova white! We enjoyed the miles of quiet country lanes, but it was harvest time so they were muddy. The car was in a bit of a state at the end of the week.

Having looked on auto trader, I would be sorely upset if I bought one at £21k and then saw the exact same car for this much less.

69 plate cars are even less. I’m guessing there is some wiggle room on that £21k price

It’s not worth 21K if it’s just a 1.2 69, now if it had the 0.9 Twinair 105hp or the 1.4 Multiair 100hp it would be worth it.

You can get an Abarth 595c starting at £19k that has 165hp and a big turbo. Still leaving you a couple of grand for options, even then I think this is too much for such a small car that doesn’t offer much in the way of luxury or practicality.
